There are many fathers in my life I wish to say Happy Father's Day to. First of all is my own father, of course, who has been wonderfully warm and supportive of me my whole life. I was never one of those kids who wondered if they were adopted because all I ever had to do was look at my dad and realize that he must be my father. My dark hair, my short height, my crooked teeth, my outgoing personality and my general out of it weirdness all come from him. Thank you Dad! (Well, except for the crooked teeth - I could have done without them.)

There's also my grandfathers. Grandpa Jones, as many of you already know, passed away last October. I believe that, in some ways, he is still with me. But I miss him, too. I've always looked up to him, too. He was funny and interesting, well-traveled and well read; he liked cooking even more than he liked eating, and what I got from him, more than anything, was the sense that family includes, but is not limited to, your blood relatives.

My Grandpa Sagaser is still around and very much the smart, cynical cowboy that he's always been. I look at my mom and my brother and I think of him. He's quiet and intense, but always ready for a lively debate. He values honesty and integrity very highly, and very much instilled that in my mom, who did her best, I'm sure, to pass it on to us.

These three are my eternal examples of fatherhood, and they all mean so much to me, more than I can say. My love and thanks to them for everything.

Also, Happy Father's Day to Brian, who is an extremely dedicated and caring father to his little boy, for which I admire him very much. I know it isn't easy, especially on your own.
