I like silliness
Mar. 6th, 2006 03:29 pmFor my birthday last year, my siblings gave me this book (yay, pritty pritty goblins!) which amused me and please me very much. So much that I got a calendar to go with it. Most of the months have their own goblin names (February was "Lymus" and the explanation reads: "Vulgarly called Fibruary, or the Moon of Deceits, a celebration of lies and misnomers culminating in the abhorrent (and often actionable) Feast of Slanders."), though March is merely "March!"
I forgot to switch it to March until today, which is why I only noticed this now (paper calendars are mostly decorative for me - I rely on my PDA for most calendrical functions), but tomorrow is a goblin holiday.

Ho, Ho, Ho! Cheese, wind, and a pillow!
On this day, forty-two years ago, the famous, beloved sleeping goblin, Krebira, briefly awoke from an impressive slumber lasting one hundred and three years and seven days. Upon waking, he called for cheese, farted, then rolled over and went back to sleep. He is sleeping still. On this day, and in his honor, goblins pilfer as much down bedding from mortal bedrooms as they can find. Very quiet pillow fight tournaments are then held, followed by a lovely nap.
