An interesting and varied day...
Sep. 13th, 2004 12:41 amI'm not going to say much now, since it's late and I'm tired, but I wanted to at least mention that I have a new email address (the old Yahoo one still works, it's just a pain in the neck sometimes) - the username is the same as my LJ username and it's at gmail.
This morning was my first day back at Baha'i school, where I teach the 12-14 year old class. Last year I mostly had two students, only one of whom actually wanted to be there. This year it looks like I may have as many as five, and they pretty much all want to be there. I'm also feeling more organized and on top of things than I have in a while, so I think it's going to be a good year on that front (*fingers crossed*). I really like teaching, and I especially like teaching things that feel substantial to me - things related to spirituality and intellectual/emotional/psychological development. I'll probably mention some of the neat things later.
I also spent some very nice quality time with
Brian, and we kept each other company while we did homework I'm really enjoying hanging out with him while doing homework. I'd worried at first that we would distract each other, but actually, having him there somehow helps me to stay focused, and since we're both working, there's a very companionable feel to it. Happiness!
I also went to euphNET for "Ladiez night", as they call it (the z there really irritates me for some reason), which means it's free for us girls. Yay, free. It was my first time there, and I found it quite nice and enjoyed havingAlice Pane by my side, also playing CoH (though on a different server) and chatting with each other during idle moments. One of these times when Brian has a few bucks lying, he will probably come and play with us, which I think will be fun. The additional dimension it added to the experience is prompting various thoughts about the social dimension of MMOs in the game and out of it, but I'm going to let that one percolate for a while.
I'll finish with a little challenge for you - if you had to define the imaginary word "describle", how would you define it? And use it in a sentence.
