Nova Update
Oct. 27th, 2007 02:57 pmI'm still having trouble sleeping - I wake up at night thinking about my friends in Japan and wondering about the situation there and imagining what I would have done in their situation.
Here is a slightly more informative article on the situation. Nova has actually filed for bankruptcy protection - if they can't find a corporate sponsor within 30 days, then they will be declared bankrupt. Since the teachers are still technically employed by Nova, their visas are not in jeopardy. I don't know how or if that status will change if Nova does declare bankruptcy.
Edit: Australia & UK embassies offering assistance, there are also quite a few more articles up on the Daily Yomiuri.
