Takashi Miike is directing a Ryu ga Gotoku movie. Ryu ga Gotoku (known as Yakuza in the US) is a cool action game I bought in Japan. I've only played a little bit of it, but it's fun and the voice acting in the Japanese version is good - apparently the voice acting in the US version isn't that good, which is too bad. I love yakuza accents, they sound so cool! (I wish they'd leave more of the native dialogue in when they localize games, though I suspect that may be an impractical desire. I've only seen fighting games do it, and otherwise, it looks like they almost make a new voice track for localization. It goes both ways, too - I bought Ratchet and Clank in Japan, and the game is dubbed in Japanese, no English soundtrack available.)
Anyway, one of my favorite Japanese directors making a yakuza movie based on a video game I like - I hope it's good.
